About Us

A Special Location Nestled in the Main Beaches Region, the Wells-Ogunquit area couldn’t be more scenic. With miles of white sandy beaches, Perkins Cove and the famous Marginal Way walkway just minutes from our door we are situated as the perfect southern Maine destination. . Each season brings a symphony of sighs and sounds that complements  our accommodations and the family atmosphere.

The Motel, and Grounds, since 1984, have been opened in the summers to naturalists, sight-seers, beach lovers and tourists.  Amazingly, the natural beauty that attracted the very first  visitors to the Maine beaches hundreds of years ago still greets our guests and families today.

The founders, Joe & Jean Proach, based their dream for the Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel on creating the type of Family friendly place that they wanted to find while vacationing with their 2 sons.  You are invited to stay and try their infamous "Maine Picnic Breakfast" with a generous assortment that is sure to please all ... plus clean, comfortable, and affordable rooms complete with refrigerators and microwave ovens, gas BBQ grills and a gas cooktop, outdoor heated pool and a toddler playground.

As a contractor Joe Proach dreamed of building something that would stay in the family, and provide family legacy for his sons and their children.  The dream became reality when together with his wife Jean, his Dad (Peter), and two sons Peter & George they purchased the land in Moody and started building in 1983.  The Motel construction started each Fall and continued until the tourists came; each year more rooms were added.  The dream continued and now has prospered for 28 years.   Joe passed away in 1993 but the fruits of his labors live on!  The Motel has now grown to a 48 room facility run by  Peter and his wife Sarah along with their 2 children, providing a "family friendly" atmosphere.

Serving up breakfast every morning from 8:00-10:00 for 28 years,  we greet and visit with the guests over coffee and a delicious selection of raspberry, cinnamon, carrot and apple pastries, white & wheat toast, English muffins, Cream cheese, fresh melon, and Jean's grandmother's secret recipe for Canadian baked sugar beans!  All complimentary!
