Whaleback Light,
Kittery, Maine- From the Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel, go south on US Rt.
1 to Kittery. Turn left onto 103 Walker Street. Turn left onto Wentworth
Ave. Turn right at Whipple Rd. and pass the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard,
onto connecting Pepperell Rd. and pass Fort McClary State Memorial onto
Tenney Hill Rd. About 2/10 miles past 103's intersection with Haley and
Hoyt's Rd. (post office on the northeast corner), bear right onto Chauncey
Creek Rd. Turn right at Gerrish Island Lane and cross over a concrete bridge
then bear right at Pocahontas Rd. to park entrance. |

Nubble Light, Cape
Neddick (York), Maine- From Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel, go south on US
Rt. 1 through the towns of Wells and Ogunquit. Turn left onto 1-A and go
through the town of York Beach past the York's Wild Kingdom. Go to Stop
sign and turn left and then right onto Nubble Rd. which is marked with
a small Nubble Light sign. Follow Nubble Rd. to park entrance and Sohier
Park Rd. Drive to road's end and scenic overlook with ample free parking.
The park has a welcome station and public restrooms (8am to 8pm). On a
clear day the Isles of Shoals Light can be seen to the south and Boon Island
about 7 miles to the east. |

Goat Island Light,
Cape Porpoise, Maine- From Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel, go north on US
Rt. 1 and 1/8 of a mile and turn right onto Rt. 9 through the center of
Kennebunkport. Turn right at the stop sign then take your first left. Follow
this road for about 2 ¼ miles which will bring you to the center
of Cape Porpoise. Rt. 9 will then turn left, but keep going straight and
continue for 6/10 mile to its end at the town wharf. Off-road parking is
available next to the wharf. |

Wood Island Light,
Biddeford Pool, Maine- From Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel, follow the directions
to Goat Island/ Cape Porpoise until the center of Cape Porpoise, instead
of going straight, turn left and stay on Rt. 9 for about 7 miles. Turn
off Rt.9 onto 208 (Bridge Rd.). At a "T" intersection turn left. Continue
on 208 through Biddeford Pool to the point where the road makes a right
turn along the shore. Just before the turn there is a closed vehicular
gate (on the left) with an opening for foot traffic onto a well-marked
pathway, the walk to the inlet's shoreline is about 1/3 mile. The first
part of the walk is uphill past a golf course; then it levels off for easy
walking. Off-road parking is permitted at the gate and westward along the
road's north apron. |

Portland Head Light,
Cape Elizabeth, Maine- From Wells-Ogunquit Resort Motel, take the Maine
Turnpike (Interstate 95) to Exit 44 (formally 6a) Interstate 295. Get off
at the Waterfront exit and stay to the left and take Danforth St. Go through
3-4 lights until you see State St. then take right onto the Casco Bay Bridge.
Go to the end of road and trun left onto Broadway, go to 2nd stop light
and turn right* and then bear left at next light. Ram Island Ledge Light
is just off shore of Portland Head Light, and on clear days you can see
6 area lights. *You can also see the South Portland lights by staying on
Broadway to the end. Turn left to see Portland Breakwater Light or right
and then left at the end of the road to Spring Point Light. |

Two Lights, Cape
Elizabeth, Maine- Follow directions to Portland Head Light and go past
the entrance or left on the way out, and follow Shore Rd. to Rt. 77 Go
South to Two Lights Rd. on the left. |
